Hiwassee Loop Train Excursion with Tennessee Overhill

Working in the world of tourism, you get to experience your backyard through the eyes of your guests. This experience was not a first trip for myself, but it was a first for my guests both veterans of the area and new. Just shy of the last leaves falling along the track, you experience the vast openness of valley. Starting the trip just on the edge of Etowah, you quickly pass over the beautiful Hiwassee River to the corkscrew up the mountain. At one point of the excursion you actually cross under and then cross over the track you were just on. Quite the wild concept when you consider how large the train and feel the shortened timeframe. While on the train, you are free to roam around, there is a snack bar & souvenir options, restrooms, and observation cars with amazing glass domes.
